Cuban Construction Works Made progress in 2016

Execution of prioritized construction works in the country, production of construction materials and investments were some of the achievements in 2016, Construction Ministry top officials reported today.

In a media conference, director of Balance Director at the Managerial Group of Construction and Assembly, Niurka Casin, explained the commitment to the execution of prioritized works for the nation.

Among them, there are renewable energy programs related to the Electricity Union that include photovoltaic solar parks, small hydroelectric stations and windfarms.

The new constructions are in the provinces of Pinar del Rio, Cienfuegos, Sancti Spiritus, Guantanamo and Isle of Youth, and are already synchronized and added to the national electrical network.

Casin explained that for this year, the investment of 22 million pesos had been planned, but due to its importance and the achievements after its implementation, it was decided to increased them up to 52 million pesos.

Investments are expected to increase up to 116 million pesos in 2017.
