Cuba, Vietnam Parliaments Strengthen Ties

President of the National Assembly of People''s Power (ANPP) of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, and vice-president of the Vietnamese parliament, Tong Thi Phong, ratified here the desire to strengthen the ties between the two institutions.

When they met at the Parliament Headquarters, -National Capitol- the parties highlighted the excellent relations between the two parliaments and their willingness to continue to increase them.

Lazo stressed the deep bonds of friendship and solidarity that unite both countries, feelings that were solidified by the visits to this capital of the country's President, Tran Dai Quang, and Vietnamese Parliament President Nguyen Thi Kim.

According to the website of the ANPP, the also member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba, explained to the visitor the composition of the National Assembly, the functioning of the People's Power and the updating of the economic model after the agreements of the 7th Congress Of the Party. For her part, the Vietnamese deputy expressed to her host the satisfaction of being received in the institutional headquarters of the Cuban legislature, shows the importance that is given to this institution as representative of the people.

Both personalities also discussed the economic and social development of the two nations and the international situation.

During the stay on the island the Vietnamese delegation will pay tribute to the heroes José Martí and Ho Chi Minh, will meet with leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba and will visit places of historical, scientific and tourist interest in the city.
