New sausage production plant opens in Havana

The Food Production Company (PRODAL), in this capital, has opened a modern sausage production plant, which makes possible to substitute imports and deliver a larger volume of food to the population.

European technologies make up the equipment assembled in this center of the municipality of Regla, and with the capacity to process up to 20 tons of the aforementioned assortment daily.

Yaneisy Romero, head of the Group of Imports, of this entity belonging to the Business Group of the Food Industry (GEIA), told Cuban News Agency that for this year they plan to install and remodel refrigeration systems, which make it possible to achieve maximum performance.

She reported that in the first three months of 2017 more than 720 tons of sausages were made, and the purpose is to continue increasing delivery volumes to the economy.

She explained that training activities for the workers are carried out with a view to optimizing the productive processes and the assimilation of state-of-the-art technology, installed with this state investment, which exceeded seven million CUC.

It meant that a plant will also be built with a view to the treatment of wastewater, (about 500 cubic meters daily), which will protect the environment and the bay of Havana.

PRODAL's productions have a quality system according to ISO international standards for the design, production and marketing of products made from poultry, fish and seafood.

Currently it has a sales level that exceeds 16 million CUC, with a sustainable variety of products (42) developed with the most rigorous quality and elaboration regime.
