Mojito, Daiquiri and Presidente are three of the Cuban drinks attracting, since Saturday, participants in the 18th Pan-American Congress of Bartenders and Educational Bar Show, under way in the Mexican city of Guanajuato.

Seven Cuban barmen and barmaids are taking part in the meeting, which will run until Thursday at Radisson Hotel, among them champions of national competitions, acting president of the Cuban Association of Bartenders (ACC), Jose Rafa Malem, told the press on Monday.

In addition to competitors, the Cuban delegation is composed of Edel Mario Cervantes, maitre of Havana’s Riviera Hotel, and Raul Dominguez, representative of the ACC on the eastern side of the island, the two of them speakers of the prestigious meeting, attended by professionals of 20 nations.

Executives of the company Havana Club International S.A. complete the delegation, which will focus on Caribbean issues like the combination of coffee, tobacco and rum, pointed out Malem.

According to specialized sources, Mojito, Daiquirí, Presidente, Mulata, Havana Special, Cuba Libre, Cubanito, Mary Pickford, Isla de Pinos and Ron Collins are among the ten jewels of Cuban cocktails.
