Several tourist facilities in Cuba took place among the most popular hotels in the world, recognized by thousands of users at the HolidayCheck Awards 2014.

Every year, the biggest European portal of reviews on hotels, holidaycheck.es, makes a selection of the best Inns International, after analyzing more than 980 thousand users criteria, taking into account the percentage of recommendations and the score (Suns) granted by category.

Among the hundreds of award-winning hotels in category number 1 in the country, the Hostal Las Palmas, located in the city of Trinidad (Sancti Spiritus), while in the pairs, the Blau Varadero, on the Hicacos Peninsula (Matanzas). In clear expansion to reposition one of the locomotives of the national economy, Cuban tourism today boasts more than 60,000 rooms to the length and breadth of the archipelago, of which 63% are four and five star categories.

According to figures from the Ministry of tourism, in 2013, the Cuban hotel plant added thousand 537 rooms, with the opening of five new hotels, while that other six thousand 639 rooms were repaired or remodeled.
