Cuban Minister Highlights Work of Cuban Scientific Institutions

The Minister of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), Elba Rosa Perez, has said that the Cuban scientific institutions are currently striving for professional skills, while achieving real scientific impacts.

CITMA leader ruled out that such entities were one more single structure, when from the very beginning of the Cuban Revolution these became a novel way of making science, as well as an supportive instrument for the scientific direction process.

She attended a meeting to revitalize the scientific complex in western province of Matanzas, by seeking a better use of specialists and integrate the efforts of the research centers and companies for the local socio-economic development.

The Science and Technology Unit (UCT) belonging to the CITMA Provincial Delegation promotes this renovating work, a proposal debated in the Council of Matanzas Provincial Administration, according to an official statement.

This forum was attended by CITMA directors and representatives of different technological sectors such as agriculture -for tourism development-, sugar, agribusiness, development and use of renewable energy sources, among others.
