Cuba Reiterates Long-Standing Support For Syrian Sovereignty

Last month, Syria's Deputy Foreign Minister recognized Cuba's consistent support for developing countries and liberation movements.

Cuba supports Syria's people and government in its war against terrorist organizations, and calls for respect for Syrian sovereignty, Deputy Foreign Minister of Cuba, Anna Teressa said according to Syrian media sources.

Teressa called for all nations to “respect the Syrian people's right to determine their future away from foreign dictates,” Syrian news agency, SANA reported.

She also reiterated Cuba's support for Syria in its fight against terrorism.

“All await the day when the Syrian army declares full elimination of terrorist organizations and mercenaries being sent to fight in Syria,” she said, adding that she hoped victory would be close for the Syrian Arab Army and its allies.

The remarks came in a meeting between Teressa and the Syrian Ambassador to Cuba, Idris Mayya.

Mayya filled the Cuban minister in on recent developments in the ongoing Syrian conflict, including the victories in breaking the Islamic State group seige over the city of Deir -ez Zor, as well as the efforts toward restoring stability and stability so that displaced families can continue returning.

Syria and Cuba celebrated 53 years of diplomatic relations last month, during which Syria's consistent support for Cuba against the United States imposed blockade was celebrated, as was Cuba's support for Syria against foreign intervention and terror threats.

Syria's Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, recognized in a statement last month Cuba's contribution and support to developing countries and liberation movements around the world.
