In August, the White House alleged that its diplomats in Havana suffered a range of health issues caused by “sonic attacks.”

A committee of Cuban experts studying the U.S. government's allegations of so-called “sonic attacks” on U.S. diplomats in Havana are holding an online webinar Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 15:00, Havana time. The Cuban Science network will hold a forum titled “A Scientific Exchange on the Alleged Sonic Attacks in Havana” which will continue on Thursday from the next day at 10:00 a.m. The webinar will be held at supuestosataques.redciencia.cu

The webinar's main purpose will be exchange information and opinions with the international scientific community and other stakeholders or interested parties.

In August, the White House alleged that its diplomats in Havana suffered a range of health issues caused by “sonic attacks.” The diplomats reportedly heard noises inside their homes and before experiencing various "symptoms" including nausea, headaches, balance problems, hearing loss, facial and abdominal pain, memory loss and concussion.

The webinar will discuss several questions:

- Were the described symptoms caused by sonic pressure?

- Could any other illness lead to these symptoms?

- Were the symptoms possibly rooted in psychological or social origins?

The Cuban committee charged with investigating the U.S. claims has had no access to even medical tests performed to "affected". Only one elementary medical summary was received along with the audio samples provided by U.S. authorities analyzed. Despite these limitations, a thorough investigation was conducted.

The Cuban Experts Committee is represented by professionals in the fields of physics, engineering, telecommunications, internal medicine, neurology, neurophysiology, audiology, epidemiology, environmental health, entomology, psychology and sociology.
