On November 16, 2017, the second meeting of the U.S.-Cuba working group on the security for trade flows and the protection of persons between Cuba and the United States took place in Washington D.C.

This working group meets in the framework of law enforcement, which both parties maintain for the coordination of the combat against transnational crimes affecting the two countries. The meeting took place in an ambiance of respect and professionalism.

The Cuban delegation was made up of representatives of the Ministries of the Interior, Foreign Affairs and Transportation, the General Customs of the Republic of Cuba and the Institute of Civil Aeronautics of Cuba while the US delegation was composed of representatives of the Departments of Homeland Security, Justice and State.

The delegations of both countries reviewed the actions implemented in the period and agreed on how important it is to continue the bilateral cooperation in this area to ensure that the flows of persons and trade take place in the required environment of security and safety.

Both parties agreed to continue these technical exchanges in the future.
