ETECSA Announces New Prices for Mobile Calls
The Cuban Telephone Company (ETECSA) started implementing new prices for cell phones in line with the real time of national calls.
According to the national newspaper Juventud Rebelde, it is implemented either in incoming or outgoing calls in pre-paid cell phones and the fee shall be charged in seconds.
It means that the call cost depends on the call duration instead of the existing 30-second intervals.
Calls ranging from 0-30 seconds cost 0,18 CUC and 31-60 seconds cost 0,35 CUC. That is to say, the price was the same whether you talked 5 or 29 seconds.
With the new fee, a 12-second call will only cost 0,07 CUC now.
ETECSA’s new promotions are also benefitted with this new fee scheme while the voice plans had already such fee from the very beginning.
