Cuba, Czech Republic Ratify Development of Ties

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Martin Tlapa, has expressed his government''s satisfaction for the state of relations between Cuba and his country, diplomatic sources informed today.

The note disclosed the recent meeting between Tlapa and Cuban ambassador to Prague, Felix Leon, at the headquarters of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where some issues related to the development of bilateral ties were addressed.

Both diplomats said that the economic collaboration is on an upward path and new ways of giving it more dynamism were assessed, the note said.

These links received a strong boost in 2017 with visits to Cuba of Czech Ministers of Health, Agriculture and Trade and Industry; as well as the trip of several Cuban delegations to this European nation.

During the 35th Havana International Fair in 2017, a memorandum of understanding was signed to promote mutual economic relations, and coincided in the interest to collaborate in the energy sector.

Cuban officials and citizens of this country also paid tribute on January 28 in Prague to National Hero, José Martí on the 165th birth anniversary.
