Cuba Condemns Violent Actions to Destabilize Nicaragua
Cuba condemned the destabilizing attempts over the past days against Nicaragua, and repeated its support for the government of that Central American country.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed Cuba's support for the sovereign efforts by the people and the government headed by President Daniel Ortega and Vice-President Rosario Murillo to preserve dialogue, peace and the well-being of the Nicaraguan people.
The Ministry also highlighted the social, economic and security achievments made in favor of Nicaraguans.
Violent acts that resulted in several deaths, looting and damage to public and private property are promoted by opposition protests that the government has denounced as the result of manipulation of social security reforms by the right wing.
