Havana, May 20 (Prensa Latina) The director of the General University Hospital Calixto Garcia, Carlos Alberto Martinez, reported today that the three survivors of the plane crashed last Friday in this capital continue in extreme critical condition.

In statements to the press, Martinez said that, given the complexity of the injuries, the evolution of patients is unstable and with risk of other complications.

The Boeing 737-200, of the Mexican company Damojh, leased by Cubana de Aviacion, crashed near Jose Marti International Airport in Havana. Only three people survived.

There were 113 people on board, including 102 Cubans, six Mexican crew members, two Argentine tourists and one Mexican, and two Sahrawi residents on the Caribbean island, specified the authorities.

'The three women were transfused with plasma and globules and are intubated and ventilated,' said Martinez, a First Degree specialist in General Surgery.

The 19-year-old young girl, Mailen Diaz, underwent surgery for the cervical spine.

Similarly, Grettel Landrovell, 23, was reoperated for a hematoma within the brain tissue and an incision was applied to decompress the area and improve circulation, as a result of burns on the back.

Likewise, Emiley Sanchez, 39, also received an incision of burned skin on the left hand and is reported in extreme critical condition, although she is the most stable case.

More than twenty doctors from different specialties are working to stabilize the patients, while a constant system of discussion is carried out to adopt the necessary measures.
