Cuba's President Visits Economic Works in Eastern Province

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel visited works related to the development of tourism and food production in the eastern province of Holguin, national television reported today.

According to a report of the noon news, the President began his tour of the municipality of Antilla, located about 100 kilometers east of this city, territory with potential to become a new tourist pole of the island, for its pristine beaches.

The head of State, who has visited several provinces, highlighted the impact of tourism development on the well-being of the population, from the creation of jobs, among other issues.

The Cuban president was also in the municipality of Mayari, where he learned details of the main hydraulic work being carried out in the Caribbean country, the east-west transfer.

He also visited a pork center and rice areas, in which he spoke with producers and local residents.
