The reordering of self-employment in Cuba will be accompanied by a broad process of socialization of the new legal norms that will come into force on December 7, an official source reported.

At a press conference, the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security, Marta Elena Fleito, explained that the training seminars will include personnel from state entities and the 592,000 citizens licensed to carry out private production and service activities.

According to the new regulations, the modalities of self-employment in the country will fall from 201 to 123, as a result of the simplification of bureaucratic procedures and the union into a single category of several related tasks, he recalled.

Many of the employees in the sector will have to decide how to readjust their situation, hence the government's interest in offering timely information, said Fleito, who highlighted the begining today of the seminars with Havana's self-employees.

These meetings will serve, at a national level, to listen to the concerns of the workers and clarify any existing doubts, because they will receive a copy of the Official Gazette in advance with the new legal regulations.
