Cuban President Evaluates Preparations for Next School Year

The president of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz - Canel, affirmed that in the next school year 2018-2019, which will begin on September 3, the debate on the Constitution of the Republic project will be added to the curricular design, transcendental fact for the country that requires organization and in which the criteria of the educational sector, characterized by their depth and maturity, is fundamental, Radio Havana Cuba publishes.

Díaz-Canel highlighted the favorable situation to begin the course, due to the organizational effort deployed in the middle of the holiday period and considered that the sector is one of the most submitted to the enemy subversion projects, hence the need for political work, the summon and the differentiated and agreeable work with our young people.

The president said that, given the teacher shortage that persists in some territories, although at lower levels than other courses, alternatives have been sought to ensure the completion of teachers in front of the classrooms.

He also called for continuing the fight against academic fraud in Cuban schools that, despite having reduced the number of events, there are still cases in tests and verifications.

These assessments were made by the President of the Councils of State and Ministers during a recent meeting where they reviewed the preparations for the academic year 2018-2019, in which representatives of various agencies reported the situation a few days before the starting of the classes. .

In the meeting participated the Ministers of Education, Higher Education, Public Health and representatives of institutions related to education.
