The Cuban president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, exchanged with the heads of the provincial assemblies of People's Power in a meeting on increasing the participation of the people for a better society.

The meeting, held on Friday , was centered on the principles of a government of the people and for the people, always in contact with the base, reported the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP).

In addition, the exchange concluded a two-day working meeting in which a group of issues of great importance for Cubans was examined before the Cuban Vice President, Salvador Valdes, and the Head of the ANPP, Esteban Lazo, stated the Legislative of the Caribbean nation.

According to the report, Lazo insisted on the work´splanning , the identification of the problems, and that the results of the governmental visits to a territory are of total knowledge of all the levels, from the provincial Assembly to the Popular Council.

'Where are the basic delegates and representatives of key sectors in the community,' said the parliamentary leader. Meanwhile, the Cuban Vice President explained that work is being done to make the methods of government management more efficient, to make it more dynamic and faster, which entails preparing the cadres and changing mentalities.

Likewise, the progress of the popular consultation process of the Constitution Draft was reviewed, about which, they said, the recurrence was evident, 'to a greater or lesser extent, a broad agenda of proposals for addition, modification, deletion or doubts, in which there is an interest to enrich and improve the text of the proposal presented '.

Other issues of analysis were the state of the approaches of the population and its relationship with its delegates; the municipal self-supply of agricultural products and the behavior of the program for the construction of houses damaged by weather events, mainly in the provinces of Villa Clara and Sancti Spíritus.

Finally, Marino Murillo, head of the Commission for the Implementation of the Guidelines for Economic and Social Policy of the party and the Revolution, presented the main aspects of the policy to face the aging population.

In this regard, he explained that the program to carry it out consists of nine principles and 76 measures, of which 59 are implemented, and stressed the importance of undertaking a group of actions in the territories aimed at increasing births.
