Russian Businessmen Condemn US Blockade against Cuba

Russian businessmen sent a letter addressed to UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, condemning the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, diplomatic sources informed on Thursday.

The Director General of the National Committee for Economic Cooperation with Latin America Countries, Tatiana Mashkova, was in charge of sending the aforementioned letter.

In the letter, Mashkova calls on the U.S. government to lift the blockade, as well as respect for the rules of international law, particularly the principles of sovereign equality of the states.

The Committee expresses its full support to the Cuban people that, for more than 50 years and under difficult conditions, continue defending their right to choose their own development model.

The letter also welcomes the updating of the economic and social model carried out by the Cuban state, with the aim of raising the standard of living of its people.
