Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces Minister Visits Vietnam

Army Corps General Leopoldo Cintra Frias, who is the Cuban minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, is starting a working visit to Vietnam on Saturday, as part of regular exchanges between the two countries'' armed institutions.

During his stay here until November 28, Cintra Frias will meet with General Ngo Xuan Lich, who is the undersecretary of the Central Military Commission and the minister of Defense of Vietnam.

The two high-ranking officers will review the state of the bilateral agreement on defense cooperation for the 2017-2019 period, which was signed during a visit by the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces minister to Vietnam in March 2017. General Ngo Xuan Lich visited Havana in June 2017.

The two countries highly value their ties in the defense field as a pillar of their excellent multilateral relations.

Cintra Frias, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba and of the Councils of State and of Ministers, is expected to meet top leaders of the Communist Party, the Government and the State of Vietnam.
