Saharaoui President Starts Official Visit to Cuba
The president of the Saharaoui Democratic Arab Republic, Brahim Ghali, started today an official visit to Cuba that will extend to next Wednesday.
Ghali arrived at this capital on Sunday night and was received at the international airport terminal Jose Marty by deputy foreign minister Rogelio Sierra.
The program of activities of thwe president in Havana includes official talks with authorities and a tribute to Jose Marti, National Cuban Hero, activities scheduled for tomorrow.
The also secretary general of the Popular Liberation Front of Saguia el Hamra and Rio de Oro (Polisario Front), is head of State since 2016.
Ghali visited the island in May last year, stay during which he highlighted the legacy of historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, for the opressed peoples of the world.
Cuba and the Saharaui Arab Democratic Republic established diplomatic relations in January, 1980 and at present its main areas of collaboration are health and education.
