Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Arrived in Cuba
Nicolás Maduro, president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, arrived yesterday night in Havana where he will attend the 16th ALBA-TCP Summit starting today.
Jorge Arreaza, minister of Foreign Affairs of the South American nation and Cuban ambassador to Venezuela Rogelio Polanco accompanied Venezuelan head of state.
Bruno Rodríguez, minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, welcomed the Venezuelan President at terminal # 1 of the International Airport José Martí.
The binational meeting Cuba-Venezuela will be held today in Havana.
In the upcoming hours, the president of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and his counterpart Daniel Ortega, president of Nicaragua, as well as other ALBA-TCP representatives, will be arriving in Havana as well.
The Summit will begin today and it will be the perfect scenario to strengthen unity and Latin American integration.
Besides, it will be celebrated the 14th anniversary of the foundation of this platform, which has promoted cooperation projects such as Misión Milagro, ALBA Cultural Fund, the Latin American School of Medicine, the multinational Telesur, and SUCRE, currency issued by the Bank of ALBA with the goal of assessing trade and financial exchanges among regional nations.
