Cubans once again demonstrated in 2018 the dignity that identifies them as a people, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the island said today.

In his account of the social network Twitter, the Foreign Ministry noted that 'the year that just ended was marked by constant learning, victories and challenges, but also by the possibility of continuing to demonstrate the dignity that identifies us as a people.'

One of the events that had the greatest impact in the largest of the Antilles and the world was the decision, announced in mid-November, not to continue participating in the Brazilan program More Doctors, after the disqualifications, threats and aggressiveness of the president Jair Bolsonaro against the Cuban government and specialists.

From Brazil and other parts of the planet, the dignified position of the island was recognized, in response to Bolsonaro's attacks against a country that has spread its solidarity throughout the world, whose doctors have brought free and quality health care in the last five years to poor and intricate communities of the so-called South American giant.

In this context, the Foreign Ministry highlighted the messages of congratulations and support that continue to reach the Caribbean nation on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution on January 1, 1959.

Presidents, parliamentarians and activists from Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe sent greetings for the date, from Angola, Bolivia, China, Iran, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Russia, South Africa, Venezuela and Vietnam.
