Miguel Diaz-Canel, President of the Council of State and Ministers, will attend Nicolas Maduro’s inauguration to be held in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. This is going to be his first international trip in 2019. Moreover, he is scheduled to visit several African nations afterwards.

Diaz-Canel will travel to Caracas to attend the formal event to be held on January 10th. Maduro is going to take up his post in a new term in office after he was re-elected with the 67% of popular support back in May, 20th, 2018.

The visit was confirmed by Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez in his Twitter profile. He stated that Cuba supports Venezuela and his legitimately elected government.

Days before, the Cuban head of state had pointed out in Twitter that the sovereign of our people was settled in the approach regarding Venezuela as backing its legit right of the sister nation to decide its own fate is to defend the dignity of all of us. Our nations cannot become once again America’s backyard.

Some world leaders have confirmed their attendance to Maduro’s inauguration in Caracas, with Evo Morales among them.
