Cuban Foreign Ministry director for the United States Office, Carlos Fernandez de Cossio, rejected on Friday a recourse in the U.S. Congress to reactivate a targeted brain drain program against Cuban doctors.

The official responded in his Twitter to the initiative presented Thursday at US Congress by Senators Robert Menendez (Democrat for New Jersey) and Marco Rubio (Republican for Florida), who have amassed a record number of anti-Cuban campaigns and actions.

'Impotent resentment against Cuba has no limits. Unable to stop recognized human professional development, baseball quality and potential investment. Bob Menendez and Marco Rubio want to restore brain drain program against Cuban doctors', denounced Fernandez de Cossio.

The U.S. senators aim to re-establish a program to encourage defection of Cuban doctors working abroad in international missions.

Cuban Medical Professionals Parole Program against Cuba was in effect from 2006 to 2017, when it was repealed by then-President Barack Obama, in the midst of the approaching process between both countries.
