The continuous laboriousness helps progress in the restoration of electric service in the areas affected by last Sunday''s tornado, highlighted in Havana Alfredo Justo, from the National Electric Union.

We know the population is very sensitive and we are going to work the necessary hours to contribute to the alleviation of their problems, Alfredo Justo told Prensa Latina. Alfredo Justo is in charge of one of the brigades involved in the restoration of electricity poles and lines in Santos Suarez, in 10 de Octubre municipality.

He also noted the magnitude of the damage caused by the storm in that area, which, with the wisdom of his 23 years of service described as an incredible scenario.

'I have worked in several territories of the country, always after meteorological adverse events such as hurricanes and had never seen anything like it', he said.

In this regard, he considered this task to be very difficult due to the amount of wires, tree remains and debris.

However, he stated the task will be overcome because it is a human commitment to his people and country.

The restoration of electric service is crucial for the achievement of others such as water pumping, so the Cuban government incorporated to the recovery work in Havana brigades from Pinar del Rio, Matanzas, Cienfuegos, Ciego de Avila and Villa Clara provinces.

Raul Garcia, Energy and Mines Minister at the Council of Ministers meeting on Thursday, stated that in Diez de Octubre, Guanabacoa and Regla municipalities, the rehabilitation already exceeds 70 percent of the electricity service affects.

He also stressed that the extent of the debris accumulated in the access roads prevents progress as quickly as expected, but is working tirelessly to get it restored in those territories as soon as possible.
