Cuban and Japanese companies strengthen ties in Tokyo based on a comprehensive joint work program.

The Cuban Embassy in Japan reported through Facebook and Twitter about the arrival in Japan of an important delegation from the energy company Energoimport and the Cuba-Petroleum Union (Cupet).

The Cuban business delegation visited a Denyo power unit factory and will carry out an extensive program of joint work with Japanese firms, according to the information disclosed.

Cuba and Japan are enjoying a good moment in their relations, while both governments are promoting bilateral cooperation, asserted the island's ambassador in Tokyo, Carlos Miguel Pereira.

Pereira told Prensa Latina that the first phase of a project to help the Caribbean nation by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) began last January with the shipment of 24 solid waste collection trucks to the capital.

The Cuban ambassador pointed out that other collaboration initiatives have already been implemented with the Asian nation, such as the supply of advanced medical equipment for the modernization of the Cuban hospital system, and it is planned to continue the exchange with projects related to agricultural development and also in energy matters.

Cooperation is progressing and consolidating to the benefit of both countries, stressed Pereira.
