Advisor to the Iranian Parliament Speaker Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Cuban Ambassador to Iran Alexis Bandrich Vega, in a meeting in Tehran, denounced the US destructive role in Venezuela, and reiterated their countries' support for the legal government of Nicolás Maduro.
During the Sunday meeting in Tehran, Amir Abdollahian said that the US wants to throw Venezuela into disarray.

Condemning Washington’s interventions in Caracas’ internal affairs, the Iranian official noted that Trump’s administration is violating international law with its measures.

Iran always defends other countries’ rights for independence and is against any foreign intervention in countries’ internal affairs, he said, adding that political dialogue between the legitimate government of Venezuela and the opposition is an appropriate approach to solve the dispute.

Elsewhere, touching upon 40 years of diplomatic ties between Iran and Cuba, Amir Abdollahian, highlighted the need for enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

He went on to say that the Iranian Parliament is ready to expand parliamentary and political ties with the South American country.

For his part, Alexis Bandrich Vega offered congratulations on the 40th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, adding that this Revolution is an important model for all nations which seek independence.

He appreciated Tehran’s support for different nations against aggressive policies of the United States.

He also condemned the meddlesome actions of Washington in Venezuela and expressed Cuba’s support for Nicolás Maduro's legitimate government.

Late in January, Amir Abdollahian condemned the interventionist role of the US in Venezuela, and asserted that Tehran welcomes dialogue among internal sides in the Latin American country.

Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Venezuela’s Ambassador to Iran Carlos Antonio Alcalá Cordones, where he said that Iran welcomes any initiative to stabilize the status of the Venezuelan government and peaceful settlement of disputes through dialogue among internal sides.

He described the two countries ties as cordial and US interventions in other countries as a threat to global peace and stability.

“We are monitoring Venezuelan developments carefully and are regrettable over the unrests which took place in the country since the beginning of the year,” he said.

Condemning US interferences in other countries’ affairs, Amir Abdollahian said that unfortunately, direct intervention in other countries’ affairs has turned into a strategy in White House foreign policy and Washington’s meddling in Venezuela is evident.

Venezuelan envoy, for his part, appreciated Iran for its spiritual supports to the legal government of the country, saying that Carcass has always favored development of all-out ties with Tehran.

“Washington is seeking to dominate Venezuelan oil reserves through provoking opposition groups in the country,” he said.

In a related front, also on the same day, a host of people of Tehran gathered in front of the Venezuelan embassy in the Iranian capital city to voice their support for the legal government in Caracas, and condemn the US-backed failed coup in the Latin American country.

A number of people in the Iranian capital city of Tehran congregated in front of the Venezuelan embassy building, chanting slogans in support of the democratically elected president and administration of the Latin American country.

The participants also called for unity between the people of Venezuela, urging Venezuelans to avoid further insecurity and chaos, and mark their disapproval of coup attempt.

The crowd also condemned the US and Europeans’ support for coup in Venezuela, and called upon the people of Venezuela to be vigilant and not fall into the trap of the coup.

The Venezuelan ambassador went among the participants, and voiced gratitude for the support of Iran and many other countries of the world for his country.

He also condemned US meddlesome policies in Venezuela.

At the end of the event, participants read out a statement to underline their support for the democratically picked president and government of Venezuela.

A day before that, Iranian Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said that the failed coup in Venezuela was a fiasco for Westerners supporting instability in Caracas, adding that the event exposed the real face of the US and its allies.

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani condemned the US administration failed coup attempt in Venezuela, saying that the attempt showed the true face of the US and Western governments’ calls for democracy and human rights.

“What happened in the form of an American coup in Venezuela was not a new incident,” the senior Iranian official said in a meeting with judicial officials.

“Although the coup failed, it was a warning to other nations to be more vigilant against the true nature of America and Europe,” Amoli Larijani added.

The Judiciary chief added while the coup was not successful, the US administration recognized the coup plotters and sent millions of dollars there to push the country towards chaos and destroy its human and natural resources.

“In Yemen, they put millions of people under siege and thousands of people are now facing severe hunger, but they (the western countries) do not care at all. For them, human rights only belong to the US and European people,” he went on to note.

The western powers have staged various brutal coups in Latino America, Amoli Larijani said, adding that the time is over for bringing people to the streets through money and stage coups.
