Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez received First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Titov, in this capital, in which they coincided in promoting bilateral ties.

The meeting took place in the context of the visit made by Titov to the Caribbean island, on occasion of political consultations between the chancelleries.

Earlier, the visitor spoke with the First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Marcelino Medina.

The links between Cuba and Russia were strengthened after the visit of Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel, to the Eurasian nation last November, as part of his tour of European and Asian countries.

During his stay in Moscow, Diaz-Canel spoke with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, to whom he expressed interest in strengthening the ties of strategic bilateral partnership.
