The working sessions of the First International Broadcasting Convention 2014 Cuba began in the Palace of Conventions in Havana with welcoming remarks by Omar Olazabal, president of the Organizing Committee.

“With infinite satisfaction we have seen developed for this initiative has been significant growth over 350 delegates and nearly 100 domestic exhibitors with international representation from nearly 30 countries,” he said.

The recognition of the best works in competition, debate current issues and the dedication of the appointment youth contribute to maturity in the technical and artistic work, also highlighted the vice president of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT).

These media of communication in the global era, the social impact of both influence and communication products in high demand in the formation of values and in defense of peace, are prominent issues for the participants.

“In the international context, an event of this nature is of vital importance for broadcasters and public broadcasters in the world that aim to truthful information about our realities and healthy education and entertainment. We welcome the initiative of the World Network of Stations and Channels in Defense of Humanity presents,” explained Olazabal.

The opening led to a lecture by French journalist and president of the Association for the Taxation of Financial Transactions for the Aid of Citizens, Bernard Cassen, which led to work in commissions.
