Cuban Medicine Development Center Organizes Event on ICTs

The Center for Research and Development of Medicines (CIDEM) prepares to hold the 2nd International Meeting on Management System for Information and Communication Technologies (Sigestic''19).

The event will be an opportune space for the scientific exchange and the presentation of experiences on Technological Observatories (OT) for the companies of the Group of the Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Industries (Biocubafarma), the Cidem said in a message on its Twitter account.

It will also contribute to the impact of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), strategic planning, innovation in organizations and provide basic tools for the OT, said in another Tweet the general director of information technology at Biocubafarma, Raul de la Nuez.

De la Nuez announced on Twitter the coming event of prestigious foreign experts, such as Alba Santo Soriano, from the University of Alicante (Spain) and Rafael Mayo, from Harvard University, United States. He also mentioned Dieter Roefs, from the University of Ghent (Belgium) and Juan Carlos Vergara, from the Center for Surveillance, Standards and Patents, of Spain, among other researchers.

According to the organizers, Sigestic'19, which will take place from 24 to 27 September at the Meliá Marina Varadero Hotel (Matanzas province), will include four main events in its scientific program.

Among them: 2nd International Seminar on New Trends and Applications for High-performance Computing Platforms, Sicar 2019, and the 13th International Business Intelligence Interpres 2019 Workshop.

Also, to that list are added: the II International Workshop on Computerization and Automation of Industrial Processes and the II International Workshop on Challenges and Perspectives of Cybersecurity.

El Cidem is a Cuban scientific institution dedicated to the research and development of generic medicines, natural products, advanced technologies and diagnostic means. Maintains collaboration links with more than 12 countries through agreements and projects.
