Mild earthquake shakes Santiago de Cuba

At 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2019, the Cuban National Seismological Service's network of stations recorded an earthquake reported as perceptible, located at coordinates 19.84 degrees North Latitude and -75.79 degrees West Longitude, with a depth of 3.6 km. It had a magnitude of 3.0 and its epicenter was located 22.8 km south-southeast of the city of Santiago de Cuba, province of Santiago de Cuba. This is the No.1 perceptible earthquake of the year 2019.

Reports of perceptibility have been received in the Abel Santa María, Versailles and Antonio Maceo neighborhoods, in the city of Santiago de Cuba. There are no reports of material or human damages. (ACN)
