Luanda, Jun 8 (Prensa Latina) Angolan media on Saturday reported on the message that Foreign Minister Manuel Augusto conveyed on behalf of President Joao Lourenzo to his Cuban peer, Miguel Diaz-Canel, in which he highlights the ties that unite the two States.

The newspaper Jornal de Angola published an article entitled 'President writes to Cuban Peer,' including a photo of Augusto's meeting with Diaz-Canel as he delivered the letter.

On Friday, the Angolan foreign minister concluded a three-day visit to Havana, which served to prepare the visit to Cuba that President Lourenzo will pay in late June. The two nations has had diplomatic relations since Angola gained its independence in 1975.

Diaz-Canel wrote on Twitter about the meeting with Augusto.

Public media covered Augusto's visit to Cuba, an occasion on which he met with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca.

He also visited the Havana-based Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Center and met with representatives of 2,180 Angolan students in Cuba.
