Pastors for Peace Stresses Solidarity with Cuba Despite Restrictions

New York, USA, Jun 9 ( Prensa Latina) Pastors for Peace's solidarity work will continue despite the increase in travel restrictions to Cuba and the hostile policy the US government currently maintains against the island.

Gail Walker, Executive Director of the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization-Pastors for Peace, daughter of the Reverend Lucius Walker, who was the main developer of the project.

Cuba is not alone and most U.S. citizens know that Washington's policy toward the island makes no sense and oppose it, she said on Saturday in a solidarity act with Cuba.

Our solidarity work with Cuba is more important now than ever, Trump wants to end the ties between the two peoples, but Pastors for Peace will continue its work and will continue pushing for an end to the U.S. blockade, she stressed.

Cuba is an example that a more fair society can be built, and that's why it's so important for Americans to understand the reality of that Caribbean nation, Walker said.

Aside from bringing humanitarian aid to Cuba, the Pastors for Peace caravans, under the leadership of late Reverend Lucius Walker, were created to address the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade that has lasted for nearly 60 years.
