Cuba recognizes international support in fight against US blockade
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez expressed gratitude today to the vast majority of the international community for their support to Cuba's battle against the blockade that the United States has imposed for almost six decades.
Rodriguez expressed gratitude on his Twitter account, a day after 187 countries voted in favor of the resolution entitled, 'Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba,' which was approved by the United Nations General Assembly.
'We recognize with deep gratitude all those who have expressed their rejection of the blockade against Cuba and those who have always accompanied us in our incessant struggle for the end of this policy,' Rodriguez posted.
For his part, Cuban Minister of Economy and Planning Alejandro Gil said that 'USA and its lackeys are totally isolated, because of their gross and criminal' policy against the island.
'They cannot defeat us. We will overcome the blockade and all the measures imposed on us. The peoples of the world know on which side is the truth,' he tweeted.
