Cuban VP of parliament and state council received Chinese government delegation

Representative Ana Maria Mari Machado, vice president of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP) and the Council of State, received a delegation from the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, chaired by its second vice president, Liu Qibao, at Havana´s Capitol.

During the meeting, both sides ratified the excellent state of bilateral relations, reaching six decades in 2020.

Mari Machado pointed out that during these years ¨we have shared experiences and lessons regarding the construction of socialism in our countries, so it is always good to make these exchanges¨.

She also highlighted the brotherhood, solidarity and mutual cooperation that have characterized the ties between both nations, parties, governments and parliaments, and thanked China for its support in the struggle against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.

For his part, Qibao commented on his country's current situation, mainly in the political field, and said that Cuba and China are led by communist parties, which have demonstrated firmness and maintained exchanges based on mutual respect.

Yolanda Ferrer Gomez, president of the International Relations Commission of the ANPP; Caridad Diego Bello, head of the Office of Religious Affairs of the Cuban Communist Party; Congressman Elier Ramirez Cañedo; and official Omar Torres Olivares also participated on the Cuban side.
