French Communist Party leader calls for strengthening campaign against U.S. blockade of Cuba

Paris, January 15 (RHC)-- The Secretary-General of the Communist Party of France (PCF), Fabien Roussel, urged his fellow countrymen and the international community on Wednesday to raise their voices even more strongly against the US blockade of Cuba.

"We want that demand to be heard in France, Europe, and the entire world", Roussel told Prensa Latina news agency.

The leader of the French Communist Party ratified his total support for the struggle of the Cuban people against the economic, commercial and financial blockade and rejected its reinforcement by its intensification by the Trump Administration.

"This is why we join the international campaign to reject the blockade and urge the French to be part of it, many with the experience of having visited the island," he said.

Roussel insisted on the organization's support for the sovereignty of peoples and the urgency of imposing respect for the right to choose their destiny.
