SOUTH AFRICAN MINISTER WELCOMES A NEW WATER RESOURCES GROUP OF COOPERATING CUBAN IN THIS SECTOR

Ms. Nomvula Mokonyane, South African Minister of Water and Sanitation, welcomed a new group of about thirty Cuban specialists, who will begin to provide services in this sisterly African nation.
 
In her welcoming remarks Minister Mokonyane thanked the Cuba for its solidarity with her people throughout all these years, recalled her trips to Cuba and urged the Cuban engineers to contribute their best to change the situation in the sector, which she directs that it is a vital service for the people of South Africa.
 
She also welcomed the release of the Cuban Five, the result of the huge wave of solidarity generated worldwide and demanded an end to the US blockade against Cuba.
 
Also present were, other senior officials and employees of that Ministry and a representation of the Cuban Embassy, headed by Tania Pérez Xiques, Deputy Chief of Mission in South Africa.
