During the signature of a working agreement between the Cuban Finance Office and the Ministry of Education for the training of auditors in the middle-higher level  of education,  the general Comptroller of the Republic Gladys Bejerano Portela highlighted, that the controlling role of the State will always demand the work of auditors for checking and assessing the efficiency, efficacy, and economics that are present in the accomplishment of programs and objective in order to warrant legality, morals and ethics.
During the ceremony that paid tribute to José Martí in the occasion of the 119th anniversary of his death in combat, the Deputy President of the Council of State said that « young auditors have to be educated to tell always the truth with professionalism and courage. »

The agreement signed also proposes an improvement of the curriculum design and the professional education, as well as the procedure to recruit and insert young people in this kind of study, and that the further training of lecturers.

For her part the Minister of Education Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella said that the Technical and Professional Teaching doesn’t include the auditor specialty at present; but that the first steps have been made with the support of the Finance Office to include this study within the curriculum of technicians in middle level Accounting, a discipline which educates them to work in those specialties.

She also said that «we also agreed that a process of specialization takes place in the last year of study, and the best students will always be chosen to be trained as auditors. »

She said that there are auditors in many Cuban companies, even in the Ministry of Education and the Finance Office who were educated in that way, and they have been continuing their training in the Higher Education because those studies allow them to do so.

Regarding to the place that the work of the auditors is playing in the present Cuban society Gladys Bejerano highlighted that this is mainly «a teaching and exchanging process which must trend towards the improvement and achievement to perfection supported by work carried out with order, discipline, and demands, as the President of the Councils of State and of Ministers Raúl Castro has been asking for. »  

She also said that «this constant training must render the adjustment of the present needs and the preparation in perspective and permanent of the auditors, allowing a natural replacement in a continuous and joint way, through the transmission of the best practices which are only acquired by means of their own work, without generational ruptures, and the education of the future professionals within a great responsibility in convictions and values. »
