Strengthening ties and diversifying cooperation were cardinal objectives today of the talks between Angolan authorities and Ricardo Cabrisas, Vice President of the Council of Ministers of Cuba, during his second day of visit to this country.

The meetings were excellent, Cabrisas told the press after concluding yesterday the working meetings with Foreign Minister Georges Chikoty, Minister of State and Head of the Civil Office of the President, Edeltrudes Costa; and Construction Minister Waldemar Pires.

Cabrisas also held a pleasant and enriching conversation with Francisco de Lemos, president of the National Fuels Society of Angola (SONANGOL).

Regarding collaboration, the visitor stated that "it has been systematically expanding, not only in health, education, construction, built bridges, roads, but also hydraulic branch, electricity.... everything goes on wheels," Cabrisas noted.

Today's agenda includes working meetings with Education Minister Mpinda Simao, Agriculture Minister Afonso Pedro Canga, and Energy and Mining Minister Joao Baptista Borges.

Visiting here until Friday, May 23, Cabrisas stated that the objective of such contacts is not only to review the course of ties, but also "see what we have done, until where we have reached, what we miss, and above all, how we can show even more those relations, very diversified in benefit of both peoples."

Cuba and Angola marked 38 years of diplomatic relations on November 15, due to a solidarity history and mutual political willingness of their governments for their strengthening.
