The president of the Cuban National Assembly (Parliament), Esteban Lazo, exchanged with a delegation of Brazilian Parliament members, attending the 2015 International Cuba-Salud Convention. During the meeting at the Cuban Parliament host building, Lazo got interested by the development of the Mas Medicos (More Doctors) program, fostered in Venezuela with the collaboration of Cuban professionals.

The Brazilian delegation was formed by two deputies, two senators and an advisor from the Brazilian Public Health Ministry.

Lazo talked to the visitors about several health programs developed in Cuba, and spread to other nations.

He also stressed the solidarity assistance provided to Haiti with the presence of 700 specialists, after the earthquake in 2011 reached a total of 1,000 cooperants and training in Cuba of more than 900 Haitian doctors.
