Qatar and Cuba Explore Increasing Medical Cooperation

The Minister of Public Health of Qatar, Abdulla bin Khalid Al-Qahtani, expressed Monday his disposition to expand medical cooperation of Cuba, from the successful experience of the Cuban healthcare Dukhan Hospital. Al-Qahtani received the Ambassador of Cuba in Doha, Ernesto Plasencia, and both analyzed the progress of the work that dozens of health professionals from the Caribbean nation played in this Arab country, which has earned praise from people of other neighboring states .

Diplomatic sources said that during the meeting at the headquarters of the Supreme Council of Health both officials held a friendly dialogue and assessed the possibility of extending the collaboration of doctors and technicians in the health sector.

The Qatari minister highlighted the high level of acceptance among the local population have gained the doctors of the island and outlined plans to increase services and hospital facilities to meet the growing demand for medical care.

These services are in demand under rapid increase in population, said a press release in which the vision of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani emphasized, to ensure health care excellence.

Plasencia,for hids part, reiterated Cuba is committed of professionals already working in the country and the willingness to continue cooperating with the Arab nation in achieving these goals.
