#tichabana2015: “Political Communication in the digital environment”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba calls on the International Conference “New stages of political communication on the digital environment -2015”.

Such Conference will be held within the Tenth Anniversary of the World Summit on Information Society.

Preceded by the experiences and recommendations generated by the 1^st and 2^nd “International Workshop of Social Networks and Alternative Media” held in Havana in 2011 and 2013, this conference aims to debate on the development of ITC (Information and Communications Technologies), as well as their impact on international relations, and the political communication in the digital environment. The goal is to reach a common position and recommend key issues such as technological and cultural sovereignty of nations, internet governance, among others, in both world and regional area.

Favorable exchanges will take place in the committee of experts, which will certainly favor a future development of an official event by means of presentations and debates.

General subjects to be addressed in Committees:

• ITC development, political use and their impact on international relations. Novelties in the international media scenario.
• Cyber-security, subversion, and electronic surveillance
• Internet governance

The Convention Palace will host the event, which will take place in Havana, June 5-7, 2015.

The website Ventana Política (www.ventanapolitica.cu) will be responsible for detailing all the information related to the International Conference.
