The First Vice-president of the councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel, met on Saturday afternoon with Miguel Barbosa, President of the Executive Committee of the Mexican Senate, who heads the delegation that participates in the 15th Cuba-Mexico Inter-parliamentary Meeting, held in Havana for two days. Diaz-Canel and the distinguished visitor expressed their satisfaction for the successful results of this meeting, which took place in the atmosphere of friendship and respect that characterizes the fraternal ties between the two countries and by the progress bilateral relations have experienced in recent years.
   
Diaz-Canel expressed his gratitude for the repeated expressions of solidarity of the Mexican Congress towards Cuba and in particular for its support for the struggle against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the Caribbean island. Furthermore, the two leaders exchanged views on other issues of interest on the national, regional and international spheres.
   
The President of the Mexican Senate was accompanied by Juan Jose Bremer, Mexico’s Ambassador to Havana. Also attending the meeting, for Cuba, were Esteban Lazo, member of the Politburo and President of the National Assembly of People's Power, and Yolanda Ferrer, President of the International Relations Committee of this body
