Alejandro Castro Espin, a Special Envoy from Cuban President Raul Castro, has invited President Truong Tan Sang to visit Cuba to discuss the enhancement of bilateral ties.

President Sang hosted a reception for the envoy in Ha Noi yesterday, where he confirmed the determination of the Vietnamese Party, State and people to work closely with their Cuban counterparts.

The President expressed joy of the growth of relations in recent years, saying that the two sides should enhance their links in trade, investment, science and technology, culture, and education-training.

He spoke highly of the results of working sessions between the Special Envoy, who is also Secretary of Cuba's National Security and Defence Commission, and Vietnamese ministries and sectors during their visit to Viet Nam.

Espin, who is on a working visit to Viet Nam, said his visit aimed to deepen the special solidarity between the two Parties and States and people.

He praised Viet Nam for its achievements in renewal as well as its experience in national construction and defence.

During their stay, the Cuban guests worked with representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defence, Public Security and the Party Central Committee's Commission for Publicity and Education.
