The governor of the Argentinean province of Buenos Aires and presidential candidate of the Front for Victory (FPV), Daniel Scioli, travels to Cuba Tuesday, where he will meet with senior government officials. Official sources confirmed to Prensa Latina in Buenos Aires that the visit is part of the continued strengthening of relations between the two countries and the interest of both parties to continue exploring possibilities for cooperation in various fields.

Buenos Aires Governor himself said this afternoon Radio With Vos that the trip was "mobilized much, at a historic moment in the relationship between Cuba and the United States in very good prospects for a country that represents a feeling," he said.

After stating that "today I'm going to Cuba," he stressed the "need to find common ground with that sister Republic."

"I want to make future and the future is what is being addressed with the opening of Cuba, and obviously will relaunch the link to our countries. And Argentina has to be at his side; you have in mind when Fidel Castro came to the assumption of Nestor Kirchner, " he said.

Scioli could hold meetings with Cuban Cabinet ministers, but these are yet to be confirmed, "since everything depends on the weather", the sources told Prensa Latina.

He will be accompanied during his stay in Havana by his foreign policy advisor, Rafael Follonier, and Deputy Secretary of International Relations of the Province Buenos Aires, Carlos Peralta.

The Governor of Buenos Aires and leading presidential candidate begins the journey tonight after opening, together with President Cristina Fernandez, the works for Route 6 linking the Zarate-Campana complex with the city of La Plata.

This infrastructure project, one that was proposed during his government in Buenos Aires, was to repair 120 kilometers of the old route.

The work also includes the construction of 150 kilometers of roadsides, collector streets, distributors transit, access, extensions and lighting.
