Cuba is a reference in Latin America, stressed Nidia Diaz, a representative of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) in El Salvador, in the 21st Meeting of the Sao Paulo Forum, which continues today in Mexico.

In an interview with Prensa Latina, the secretary of international relations' department at the FMLN said the Caribbean island "is a reference in building a better world, socialism."

I arrived in Cuba on October 24, 1985 for the first time along with 101 war wounded, and then, I have had the opportunity, privilege, to meet Cuba more directly, he said.

I am happy to celebrate here the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the Sao Paulo Forum and being in this 21st meeting, said Diaz, who is a delegate of the Working Group of the event for some time.

We are pleased to always come to Mexico, here the FMLN had the solidarity and support of the people and the government at the time for peace negotiations and we have many compatriots here, she said.

The legislator of the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador, is the founder of the Salvadoran FMLN guerrilla, and member of its national leadership. I have gone through all the stages of the struggle, he said.
