The 12th World Meeting on Special Education and Attention to Diversity, gathering delegates from 21 countries, focused today on a group of international courses and specialized visits to educational centers in this capital. According to the organizing committee, participants will exchange criteria and socialize with professors, experts and authorities from Cuban institutions, fostering international cooperation. Course subjects include the process of diagnosis and orientation as a necessary prerequisite for educational change, inclusive education with an emphasis on attention to diversity, practice in language development, and communication with students.

The courses, given by renowned Cuban and foreign scholars, will also focus on Bioethics and Special Pedagogy as key elements for education from early childhood to adulthood, as well as on the stimulation of student potential and development.

The meeting, the second in Cuba began on Wednesday and will have its closing ceremony on Friday. It is sponsored by the Latin American System of Reference for Special Education and the International Association of Special Education.
