Cuba and Mexico signed on Wednesday in this capital a protocol of international cooperation that will allow for the exchange of experiences in the fields of agriculture and education. The project will enable students, teachers and scientific personnel to increase their professional level in specialties related to their work or study, Dr. Manuel Antonio Perez, director of the University Center of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) told ACN.

During the five years of the agreement, seminars, courses, symposia and scientific meetings on issues of common interest will be held.

The program includes internships for Mexican students in Cuba from four to six months for two periods of their careers, which involves production work to strengthen their academic education.

Perez said that for the UAEM it is a privilege to work with the staff of the Indio Hatuey Experimental Station of Pastures and Forage, in the province of Matanzas, which conducts research work to promote the development of livestock on the island and the search for new fodder and races.

The signing took place during the second day of the 5th International Congress of Tropical Animal Production, which will run until Friday at Havana’s Convention Center.
