End of US Blockade against Cuba Advocated in Geneva

Members of several associations of solidarity with Cuba advocated in this European city for the end of the US economic, financial and commercial blockade against Cuba, diplomatic sources said here Monday.
In an activity to express their support to the Cuban Revolution, many friends of Cuba living in Geneva ratified their position for struggling for the end of the blockade, which they consider it is unfair.

Several representatives of the Chapter Geneva of the Association of Friendship Cuba - Switzerland emphasized the importance of keeping on working from Europe to accompany the Cuban battle against the blockade, as well as to endorse the efforts of this people for the sake of constructing a prosperous and sustainable socialism.

Also, the academician and member of the Advising Committee of the Council of Human Rights, Jean Siegler remembered the united extract of the Cuban people and all the values encouraged by the Revolution.

The permanent representative of Cuba before the head office of United Nations in Geneva and other international organizations, Anayansi Rodríguez, she was grateful for the samples of solidarity expressed by the friends of Cuba in Switzerland.

Rodriguez commented on details on the continuity of the application of the blockade, in spite of the new stage in which diplomatic relations exist between Washington and Havana.

In accordance with the spread note, the activity celebrated last Saturday gave a beginning to the day for the raising of the blockade, facing the voting of the project of resolution on this topic in the General Assembly of the UN.
