"Cuba doesnot betray its Brothers": Ratifies Support for Venezuela

Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc received Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz in Hà Nội on Tuesday, pledging to encourage Vietnamese firms’ investment in the Caribbean nation.

Welcoming the delegation to Việt Nam for a meeting of the Việt Nam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee, Phúc said Việt Nam was delighted at the socio-economic achievements Cuba had obtained recently, noting that the two peoples had a special and faithful relationship that was increasingly consolidated.

Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz vowed every effort to help the inter-governmental committee work effectively.

He said although the Cuban economy was facing numerous difficulties due to sanctions, it was still striving to move forwards. He also appreciated Việt Nam’s rice supply for his country and expressed his hope that the Vietnamese Government would create conditions for businesses to continue the provision.

Highlighting both countries’ resolve to raise bilateral trade to US$500 million in 2020, the official said Cuba wanted to boost exports to Việt Nam, especially healthcare services and biological products, and also wished to attract more investment from the Southeast Asian nation as there are many Vietnamese firms operating effectively in Cuba at present.

Cuba was considering mechanisms and policy improvements to better its investment climate and attract more foreign investment, he noted, adding that as Việt Nam was experienced in agriculture, his country hoped Việt Nam would assist in this field.

As the two countries mark 60 years of their diplomatic relationship in 2020, they should work closely together to organise many practical celebratory activities so as to further promote the traditional friendship, Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz said.

He added Cuba highly valued Việt Nam’s growing role and stature, especially when Việt Nam will serve as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2020-21 and the ASEAN chair next year.

At the reception, Phúc said the Communist Party and people of Việt Nam always kept in mind the strong support and wholehearted assistance from the Communist Party and people of Cuba during the struggle for national independence and reunification in the past as well as the building of a socialist nation at present.

Việt Nam would continue to work closely with Cuba to ensure stable rice supply and promote its investment in the Caribbean country, he affirmed.

Regarding agricultural co-operation, Việt Nam was ready to assist Cuba on the basis of the latter’s potential and advantages, he said, welcoming Cuba’s intention to boost the export of healthcare services to Việt Nam.

The PM also asked the two countries’ ministries and sectors to continue researching solutions to advance bilateral relations in a result-oriented manner.

He stressed that Việt Nam always supported the Cuban people’s just fight and consistently advocated Cuba’s stance at UN forums.

Venezuela Doesn't Fear the Threats of Imperialism, says Maduro

Venezuela doesn't fear the threats of imperialism and is prepared to resist and win, stated President Nicolás Maduro this Sunday, during an appearance at the World Day of Protest against the United States.

The U.S. government violates all the principles of international law, said the head of state in the capital's Plaza Simón Bolívar.

Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, signed the document supporting the international campaign 'No More Trump', rejecting the recent unilateral and illegal measures of President Donald Trump.

'We call on the people to fight, to take action and raise banners. Venezuela must be respected,' he said.

He expressed his confidence in the people and affirmed that Venezuelans will not allow themselves to be humiliated by anyone, that they have prepared themselves morally and politically to exercise power for the sole and exclusive benefit of the Venezuelan people.

Referring to his decision to temporarily suspend talks with the opposition, he stressed that he continues to believe in sovereign, political and economic dialogue as the only way to resolve tensions, but on the basis of respect for Venezuelans and their Constitution.

He called for preserving unity and increasing production capacity in order to move forward and overcome the situation the country is facing due to Washington's punitive sanctions, which freeze state assets and threaten sanctions against those who negotiate with Venezuela.

He also instructed national authorities to improve the food protection system and stressed the need to guarantee peace and economic security, as well as the people's income.

He added that the White House uses the economic power of the dollar and U.S. banks to blackmail the world in order to impose world hegemony.

The huge mobilizations that took place throughout the country were the response of the people to the attacks by the United States against the South American nation, which intensified this week after Trump approved the blockade of Venezuelan assets in order to generate a change of regime in the country.

Venezuelan President Denounces Theft of Assets by US

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro denounced the actions undertaken by the National Assembly (Parliament in contempt), which allows the theft of national assets in the United States.

During a meeting held on Wednesday to review the productive development tasks of Venezuela, the head of State condemned the appointment by the legislature, -with legal nullity since 2016-, of an alleged Venezuelan 'attorney' in the United States.

Maduro explained that Jose Hernandez, who was illegally appointed, worked as a lawyer for the transnational mining company Crystallex, an entity for which a federal judge issued on Wednesday the 'unusual decision' of seizing CITGO Petroleum, a subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA ) in US soil, to comply with pending payments of the Bolivarian government with the Canadian company.

The president also revealed that 'the servants of the stateless Venezuelan right' have debts estimated at more than US$400 million, which they handle as commissions of illegal actions with resources from the country.

Earlier, Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said that Cristallex never held mining rights, legitimate titles or any property over Las Cristinas gold mine, one of the largest gold deposits in the continent.

Rodriguez pointed to the members of the Voluntad Popular (Popular Will) party, including legislator Juan Guaido -recognized by the United States and his allies as interim president- as accomplice in these illegal actions to appropriate the country's resources.

Presidents of Venezuela and Cuba Close 25th Sao Paulo Forum

Venezuela's President, Nicolas Maduro, and his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Diaz-Canel, participated this Sunday in the closing session of the 25th edition of the Sao Paulo Forum in Caracas. Numerous delegates representing more than 70 countries attended the ceremony.

“The U.S. imperialism counteroffensive and the oligarchy, alongside the hawks that have literally hijacked U.S. foreign policy towards Latin America and the Caribbean, are dangerously threatening the geographical space that CELAC [Community of Latin American and Caribbean States] declared a Peace Zone,” said Diaz Canel.

The Cuban president pointed out the set of anti-democratic mechanisms used such as the criminalization of progressive leaders, and corruption and data manipulation to subvert whatever has been accomplished in favor of democracy and social justice. The forum is a mechanism of coordination of progressive forces.

"Venezuela is today the first anti-imperialist trench of the world," he added demanding the Sao Paulo Forum to embrace a more active role in the complex and threatening international and regional scenario, characterized by a new imperial hostility and the withdrawal of progressive governments in some countries of the region.

President Maduro insisted on the importance of the unity of the Latin American and the Caribbean left forces "from the moral, spiritual and political point of view. We have to achieve the union of all progressive parties with a great project that manages to unify the popular forces," he stated.

Faced with the constant "imperialist calls for despair and division," the Venezuelan president pointed out that Bolivarianism is "Venezuela's autochthonous response to the crisis of the model of pro-imperialist domination that was imposed on the country.”

As part of the commemoration of revolutionary leader Hugo Chavez’s birth, the secretary of the Sao Paulo Forum, Monica Valente, said that the best way to pay tribute to the former Venezuelan president is "to continue his struggle for the sovereignty and inclusion of the peoples, to combat poverty and imperial forces.”

The Sao Paulo Forum Initially labeled as "Meeting of the Latin American & Caribbean Leftist Parties and Organizations," first took place on June 1990 in Brazil and brought together about 60 participants.

It was founded by former Brazilian president Luis Inacio Lula da Silva and the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro. Currently, over 120 organizations from 25 countries are part of the event.

Venezuelan Government and Opposition Agree on Permanent Dialogue

Caracas, Jul 12 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said on Thursday that the Bolivarian Government and the delegations of several opposition groups agreed to establish permanent political dialogue to reach peace agreements.

'This week, in Barbados, a historic working session was held on all six issues agreed upon with the Government of Norway and the right-wing sectors. Three days of intensive work,' the head of State informed.

Maduro clarified that the Executive has no problems to announce the details of the meeting publicly, 'but there is an agreement among the parties to not reveal the punctual issues being discussed. We can only say that there are six items on the agenda agreed upon by consensus,' he noted.

From the city of Cua, state of Miranda, Maduro asked Governor Hector Rodriguez to report on his experience in the process that started in Oslo and was held later in Barbados.

Rodriguez is a member of the official delegation to the talks, along with other officials of the Bolivarian Government.

During three intensive sessions of dialogue and peace with the opposition sectors, we listened to the aspirations, reflections and requests made by the different groups,' the leader confirmed.

He explained that the Government ratified its will to install a permanent board 'in order to work together for the country's peace', in accordance with what was expressed by the right wing, Rodriguez summarized.

He revealed that in the talks in Norway and Barbados, the Bolivarian delegation repeated 'the sad violent and non-positive chronology of the opposition's history against Venezuelans,' he stressed.

Rodriguez, who is also a leader of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), noted that since President Hugo Chavez's death in 2013 and Maduro's electoral victory, the opposition has called to destabilize the country by any means.

He added that despite those opposition agendas with terrorist actions, 'which do not generate anyone's trust', the Government is carrying out the process of dialogue for the benefit of the people.

Rodriguez warned that the process 'will be complex and not simple, because the differences among opposition spokespersons need a lot of work and patience.'

Venezuela Advocates Talks and Peace with Justice

The Venezuelan authorities are currently advocating to resolve political differences in the country through talks and with peace as a principle, but with justice, where those who incite civil war are punished.

Francisco Torrealba, President of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) Workers Committee, told the press that the Venezuelan people have the right to be free and to enjoy their wealth, which is blocked by the United States with the consent of the local opposition.

On the matter, the congressman of the plenipotentiary body assured that 'the National Assembly in contempt can call to anything and nobody will pay attention to it, they are condemned to fail'.

In that sense, he described the opponents as stateless, who ask for sanctions for the population, regardless of human consequences, nor the sovereign decision to fight for social emancipation.

The Constituent Assembly stressed that the President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, has repeatedly urged the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump and the media of the northern nation to end the conflict of confrontation and conspiracy against Venezuelans.

He also explained that the head of state has reiterated his willingness to carry out a dialogue with Donald Trump, with respect as the only requirement.
